I began my career working as an apprentice at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine. I then spent many years with Hodgdon Yachts in East Boothbay, Maine.
The Hodgdons are renowned, fifth generation boat builders established in 1816. With a history of traditional wooden boat building, they now build wood/composite superyachts, with a commitment to installing only the highest quality interiors.
Hired originally as a builder, I moved into design work, and was eventually charged with creating the in-house Design and Engineering Department. At Hodgdon's, I was fortunate to be able to work on some of the finest custom yachts currently being produced.
From 2006 to 2009, I worked for Burger Boat Company, Wisconsin, as Lead Designer on the Sycara IV project - a classically styled motor yacht of aluminum construction with an art deco interior. The culmination of 3 years work, Sycara IV made quite a splash in the press and at her debut at the 2009 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Currently, I have come full circle and in addition to my own private practice I am working again at Hodgdon Yachts Interiors Division.
